Abigail Wirth
Abigail Wirth The theoretical and emotional background of Abigail Wirth’s (1990, Budapest) work is the everyday experience of neurodivergent existence, with a focus on the possibilities and limitations of self-awareness and self-identity. It is important for her to present human emotions and the state of uncertainty in a universal language, in a way that is accessible and freely interpretable. Embroidery often appears in her paintings, but she also likes to use ceramics and other processes as a way of moving out of the flat surface into space. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Ceramics at Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, and studied Fashion Design at Mod’Art International Hungary from 2010 to 2012 and from 2015 to 2016. She gained her painting background at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts between 2013 and 2014. She has participated in group exhibitions in Hungary and abroad, her first solo exhibition was in 2015.
